Support Through Donations

Our sponsors and partners support events and programs throughout the year including:

Sponsored Memberships

Club members in recovery are offered the opportunity to join the Boston Bulldogs as sponsored members, which means that the cost of their membership, running gear, participation in wellness programs, coaching, transportation and race entries are covered by the Club.

The Full Circle Program

We celebrate Full Circle participants who set and achieve their wellness goals with the support of the Club’s members at races and events throughout the year. Full Circle Leaders who have accomplished increasingly challenging Full Circle training and events, give back as leaders of weekly runs, Club programs and operations. We pay stipends to Full Circle Leaders, and extend scholarships and other opportunities to Full Circle participants. Several Full Circle Leaders attended RRCA coaching certification classes, sponsored by the Club.

Junior Bulldogs

An introduction to wellness for youth affected by addiction or at risk. The Boston Bulldogs members meet with Junior Bulldogs at The Italian Home for Children, and recognize the Junior Bulldogs at special celebrations. The Junior Bulldogs program at The Italian Home was recognized with an RRCA grant initiated by the Italian Home. Junior Bulldogs are also actively engaged with Road to the Right Track.

Giving Back

Members visit various shelters and program locations to provide backpacks, personal care items, sweatshirts, socks, hats, coffee and compassion. The Giving Back program is active in weekly run communities and received a grant from Village Bank in Newton to expand the program to Newton. During the Covid pandemic, we expanded our outreach to include first responders in our weekly run communities and emergency relief funds for families in those communities.

Other Ways:

Meditation and More provides an opportunity to come together virtually to meditate, serving as a resource to those who want to learn about establishing a consistent meditation practice.

Events including the annual Run for Recovery 5K & Tribute to commemorate those who have been lost to addiction, and to raise awareness and support for all those adversely affected by addiction.

Outreach, education, membership and awareness campaigns, promotion of wellness in recovery through Wellness and Recovery seminars, community building activities and programs.

Expanded program development, execution, service delivery and ongoing support, outreach to serve target populations in broader geographies

Donor FAQs

We became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2015 via a group exemption under the Road Runners Club of  America. However, we are registered with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Corporations Division as the Boston Bulldogs Running Club Company.
We also have our own tax ID: 47-5240494 and our 990’s (Federal tax returns) are filed under that tax ID number as the Boston Bulldogs Running Club.

Yes. The unique  IRS EIN (Employer Identification Number) for the Boston Bulldogs Running Club is  47-5240494

Our mission is to provide an anonymous and safe community of support for all those adversely affected by addiction – those in recovery, their families and friends, caregivers, the clinical community, healthcare and wellness professionals and the community at large.

For the Bulldogs, recovery from substance use disorder is not just about quitting drugs or alcohol. It’s also about building meaningful, connected, sober lives. Physical activity, holistic wellbeing, peer support, and a strong sense of community are crucial elements of this process. Our programs – which range from weekly group structured runs (and walks), outreach to area hospitals and recovery centers, support for people in active addiction in shelters and soup kitchens, programs for at-risk young people, meditation and wellness sessions and more — offer hope, structure, and a sense of belonging to individuals who are often isolated and stigmatized.
Donations from individuals, corporations and partners including those made to our annual Run for Recovery & Tribute at Franklin Park and support for our annual Boston Marathon Team directly support our programs detailed below. Donations also allow people without resources to join the Bulldogs as sponsored members. The cost of their membership, running gear, participation in wellness programs, coaching, day-to-day recovery support,  transportation, and race entries are covered by the Club.

Donations also support our Weekly Runs (five runs in four locations each week), Full Circle Program which introduces new members to the Club and helps them meet specific wellness/recovery goals. Donations pay for running gear, race/event registration, and support. Our Leadership Team, composed of members who have completed Full Circle,  lead our weekly runs and outreach efforts, donations are used to compensate them with stipends and scholarship assistance. We also run a half-dozen  programs related to wellness and drug and alcohol prevention for young people as part of our Junior Bulldogs Program. Donations are used for gear, book donations, activities and resources for learning and wellness. Lastly, donations support various Boston Bulldogs Wellness Programs in area recovery centers and hospitals where Bulldogs members share the message of  recovery and the power of running, exercise and wellness.
