The Principles
Our integrative approach is built upon three key principles which are reiterated through our Full Circle program and weekly runs:
1. Self-leadership
The idea that each of us is responsible for our own wellness and/or recovery. Wellness and recovery are active, not passive processes. It is not done for us; we need to take ownership of this action. It is summed up in the expression, “just show up.”
2. Transparency
Underscores the importance of being mindful about our actions and behaviors. It requires us to be honest with ourselves and others.
3. Giving Back
We grow when we give of our time and energy to others. Our weekly runs are a platform that allows us to give back to one another by simply just showing up. This is also why Boston Bulldogs engage in service opportunities at recovery centers, schools, sober living houses, jails, hospitals and shelters.
The three principles promote and facilitate overall physical, social, emotional and mental wellness. Commitment to them helps us remain sober, connected and joyful as we discover our unlimited potential.
Core Values
The Principles are also related to our Core values:
1. Patience
2. Forgiveness
3. Kindness
4. Truthfulness
5. Generosity
6. Compassion
